The actors and Director from Henry V spent the day brewing with BeerWizard Danny from Castle Rock Brewery today on their new project... Nottingham ShakesBeer!
Michelle-Louise Wright (Director/Fluellen), Christopher Commander (King Henry V) and Lachlan Madin (Gower/ Westmoreland) along with NSC's Head of PR, who you may remember as Juliet way back in February, mashed, sparged, hopped and generally flocculated their way to what hopefully will be the first Brew in a line of many ShakesBeers.
The brew is going to be a quaffable session, with plenty of Citra hops. "We want a powerful punch, with a long-lasting savour," quipped Wright, "Just like one of our performances!"
The brew is strictly limited to 75-80 pints and when it's gone it's gone. You can find your first pint of ShakesBeer at the launch event at The Roundhouse, Royal Standard Hill, Nottingham, on the Opening Night of Henry V, 7th August.
The two remaining casks will be serving at The Embankment, Arkwright Street, Nottingham, for the show at the Victoria Embankment Bandstand on Saturday 10th August and at the Castle Rock Brewery Tap, The VAT & Fiddle for the show on Friday 16th August.
Make sure you don't miss the chance to enjoy both the beer and the Bard this summer!
