Nottingham Shakespeare Company

Thanks to our continued support from Arts Council England, our outreach company are continuing to tour schools across the midlands this academic year. The coming twelve months will bring two new shows to our repertory company, forty performances and the development of workshops to be delivered in educational settings.

This October we're developing our 6 actor, 1 hour version of A Midsummer Night's Dream, a work in progress sharing will take place at Nottingham's Pagan Market on Halloween 31st October 2026!

We will be performing on the Freckingham Steps in Sneinton Market, Nottingham,  in three 20 min sessions (1pm, 2pm & 3pm). Come along, enjoy the show and help us shape the work for taking into schools next year!

We're returning to venues across the East Midlands this February with A Midwinter Night's Dream, a new chilly take on Shakespeare's best loved comedy. Winter is a time for spirits, magic and losing control, the dark will shed new light on this material.

Currently in pre-production auditions are being held this November 9th and 11th. A seasoned performer of Shakeseare or and wanting to experience something new, we'd love to see you either way!

We're continuing our collaboration with Nottingham based immersive and experimental theatremakers Chronic Insanity, evolving from our trip into the world of Greek Legend in 2026's Apple of Discord, Folklore: The Trials of Robin Hood interrogates the myths of the British Isles, where they come from and their basis in factual reality.

In a strand curated by the Nottingham Shakespeare Company, we're taking on the scurrilous rumours that the bard's works were not written by WIlliam of Stratford but rather by author or authors unknown. The truth is on trial, who's coming out on top?

Folklore comes to Nottingham's National Justice museum throughout January of 2027.
